Python is an extremely powerful general-purpose programming language. It is used for data science and machine learning projects, web development, and software development. Given the ubiquitious use of Python for a variety of tasks as well as its global support, it has become one of the world's most popular languages - up there with Java, C, and C++.
In this advanced course, participants will build on the core foundation set in Introduction to Python and will cover more advanced Python and programming topics. Similar to Introduction to Python, this workshop concludes with a hands-on project that ties together all the covered concepts.
Attendees can use either a Mac or Windows computer for this class.
Advanced Python is different from Introduction to Python in that this training covers complex topics such as object-oriented programming which is not considered an introductory topic and therefore not in the introductory course. After taking Introduction to Python and Advanced Python, participants will have the skills needed to develop complex programs and scripts.
This workshop is often taught in a two-day sequence with Introduction to Python since both trainings are related.
An overview of more advanced Python and computer programming concepts to create efficient and cleaner code
Deep problem-solving practice taking complex problems and breaking them down into smaller chunks
Coding projects and snippets to showcase if you are job-hunting
All Cognitir participants receive course notes, a certificate of completion, instructions on how to add the course to their LinkedIn profiles, and post-seminar email support

Yes! You need to have taken either our Introduction to Python or Introduction to Data Science course.
Why do I need to learn Advanced Python and programming if I am a business or finance professional? You should learn the advanced content because it will empower you to become more data-driven and efficient at work. You may have been in situations that required you to repeatedly do something (i.e., copy, paste, and change a column in excel). You could actually use Python to create a script that helps you automate tasks that otherwise take you hours to complete. Imagine you could gain hours each week just by optimizing efficiency. Are such gains worth the cost and time of learning advanced Python and programming concepts? We would say so!
How is this course different from your Introduction to Python and/or Data Science courses? The Python taught in our data science courses is purely to help you execute your data science and machine learning tasks. The focus of this course is not on any one use case. It is designed for anyone who wants to build their skills in Python as a general-purpose programming tool. This is different from Introduction to Python in that this course is a deeper dive on certain topics briefly covered in the introductory course and/or not covered at all.
Do I have the right laptop for this course? You will need a PC (Windows Vista or newer), Mac (OS X 10.7 or newer), or Linux (Ubuntu, RedHat and others; CentOS 5+). Please contact us if you are planning to use a different setup for this course.
